King In Black #2 is a piece that gives C and D-Listers of Marvel with barely any ties to the main plot a chance to really shine for more developments. Read Full Review
I have few criticisms with Prowler's story other than it just feels like setup for another story. Though it was great to see symbiotes literally raining from the sky. Read Full Review
Planet of the Symbiotes is a serviceable collection of filler stories. Here we have two B-list acts that feature B-list characters who just happen to be around when the Knull invasion kicks off. There's really nothing here that anyone following King in Black needs to pay attention to. If you like American Kaiju or Hobie Brown, you'll get a lot more out of this anthology. Its perfectly okay, and perfectly skippable, as your mileage will vary. Read Full Review
Not quite as effective as the first Planet of the Symbiote comic, this is still a fun tie-in to the main event, but without quite as strong an appeal as the first one. If you’re a fan of giant monsters smashing things, or Hobie Brown/The Prowler/Hornet then this is a comic to pick up. If you’re looking for a bit more King in Black because the main story wasn’t quite scratching that itch, pick this up. Otherwise this is a tie-in you can happily avoid without missing out on the main story. Read Full Review
Overall, the issue starts somewhat well, and then just peters out. After the first issue dropped with such a bang, I was expecting big things from the remaining issues in the mini-series. Buy the issue for the American Kaiju visuals, but don't expect anything world-shattering with this tie-in story. Read Full Review
The second installment of Planet of the Symbiotes is a notable improvement over the first with a pair of stories that may not be wholly satisfactory, but certainly offer readers some clear value. Read Full Review
Enjoyed both stories, even if they were no more than fillers, though they do manage to flesh out the world a bit.
This was fine, and simple.
American Kaiju and Hobie Brown (once Prowler, now Hornet): These are characters that exist in the Marvel universe. Their event strips are satisfying reads, but they offer little incentive toward giving these characters more pages.
Fine but not exactly a thrill ride.
