As far as Avengers stories go, my enjoyment could not be higher. The art was solid, and the story held my attention for nearly all of the pages attached, so the victory goes to BMB. Give me more issues like this, and Ill think about taking back my insults Ive cursed your way many times. Read Full Review

. It's a fairly average outing this month. No major developments and it feels like Bendis is holding back all the major plots as he waits for Mighty Avengers to get back on track. Read Full Review

The one true highlight of this issue comes near the end, as Bendis seems poised to do something truly cool with both Avengers teams. Unfortunately, the heroes are immediately sidetracked into doing something not quite as cool. Once you see the final page you'll know exactly why the word "overkill" immediately sprung in my mind. I'm anticipating a rousing finish to what has so far been a wildly uneven arc, but I can't help feeling the climax could have been handled better. Read Full Review

Leinil Yu shows a little more variety in his style this week. While I agree that drawing disrobed women isn't his strong suit, you can see that he made a conscious effort to tone down his style to make the female figure at least a little more feminine/sexy (Black Widow still looked like a 40 year old heroin fiend though). I was just relieved that Jessica Drew's face didn't have any simian-ish features, which seems to be Yu's norm. Feel free to skip this issue, since you'll (most likely) get a better telling of the Symbiote story in Mighty Avengers when that arc is released in a year and a half. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Rokk Krinn Nov 22, 2007

New Avengers #36 was another pathetic read. I know that some people dig this title. I'm at a loss for what could be found entertaining with what Bendis is doing on this title. This is one of the slowest moving titles on the market. I feel like Bendis is pulling a joke on the reader by seeing how little he can do on each issue and still get readers to come back for more.
