Jul 15, 2026Punisher vs. Spider-Man wasn’t a comic that jumped out at me when it was announced. Punisher and Spider-Man stories usually go a very particular way, so I usually stay away from them, and I love the fact that this one didn’t. I love the way the book plays up the odd couple vibe and is able to give readers perfect snapshots of who the characters are. I don’t really have any idea where this book is going to go after this. There’s a good chance this will all be Frank manipulating Peter, leading to the titular fight down the road. If that’s the case, Marvel has picked a great team for that story. Abnett and Della Fonte have the goods to tell a great character driven story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Read Full Review

I know this is Marvel simply cashing in on the movie but there is such a glut of bad books coming from Marvel that I'll take anything. I just want something to enjoy reading and this really fits the bill. I dont mind a Spiderman cracking jokes and this issue has plenty of them. Frank is vintage ice cold Punisher. Peter is our friendly Neighborhood Spiderman and we get a classic story with vintage style art. it worked and I loved this issue. Great stuff. If only Marvel can translate this to its actual main line titles fans could enjoy the books again.

Pretty good issue that I almost didn’t read because of the mediocre cover. The inside art by Matteo Della Fonte is much better - very naturalistic and reminiscent of a classic comic style than almost nobody is able to pull off anymore. Or maybe people just don’t want this style anymore, I don’t know.
The writing is good too, although Spider-Man comes across as a little too clownish in my opinion. Anyway, great issue that reminded me of my best times reading Marvel comics - the late eighties. -

Art and story are great, with the art being the major standout here. Spidey is a little too quippy, but still fun and enjoyable. I like the story angle of spiderman and punisher trying to teach each other something through their team ups. I still don't know how well I see spiderman working with punisher because even though he went through trauma and he ain't killing people now, Frank has murdered a lot of people in the past as The Punisher, and I don't think Spidey should be letting that slide. I don't think Spidey would just approve, y'know, but let's see where this story goes. Ads were kinda annoying again, but it was an enjoyable read. 8/10 for me.
