Excellent writing, moody art, and the perfect balance of action and story-telling…while I am anxious to see this book's protagonist have a (hopefully inevitable) run-in with Venom, this book really isn't suffering by being its own beast. Honestly, my favorite issue of the run so far. Read Full Review
This issue doesn’t quite live up to the epic conclusion of this arc that many will be expecting. It plays it a lot safer in terms of the storytelling and the art, which is disappointing as it had been regularly pushing the envelope out on both until now. Not bad by any stretch, just not reaching the same quality previous issues have. The future of this comic looks great however and I’ll still be recommending it as a whole. Read Full Review
And so the first story arc of Scream ends with a whimper. Read Full Review
RIP evil mom.
This was a decent conclusion. The beginning feels like a repeat of the last issue, which I’m not sure what to say. Regardless, Andi here finally accepts her Symbiote and this time they fight as one, as Scream. I even liked the way she took out the underwater Symbiote. The end was pretty heartwarming in my opinion. The art overall is as good it gets too. While not the best comic, it’s certainly enjoyable. It gave the Scream Symbiote time to shine like never before. It gives us all new story, even if it’s not perfect, with a new host. The only thing that sucks is that it gets canceled afterwards. I would love to see more of Scream’s adventures of that ever comes to fruition.
I thought this was pretty good. This title is growing on me.
" You... You came back for me. You are me we are ONE we are FAMILY we are SCREAM "
- ANDI & SCREAM
Andi accepts a familial bond with Scream that allows them to defeat Mother. It's a rock-solid plot and theme, but the repetitive way we got to the climax detracts from its satisfaction. Storytelling is generally sound, with the script outdoing the art at its best moments. This series hasn't turned me into a Scream/Andi Benton fan -- but it's opened a door to that that wasn't open before.
