I also liked the fact that Lando has gone back to Cloud City for Lobot, who was instrumental in helping him get Leia and Chewbacca out of Cloud City during ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back'. It will be interesting to see how he is used as this story develops. Read Full Review
I never knew I'd love seeing our heroes explore and interact with Cloud City so much, but then again I never considered that creators like Saiz and Soule were capable of capturing the true grit of these characters' souls. This is a Star Wars comic that understands these characters so well. Read Full Review
While I'm really looking forward to the whole High Republic era of books coming out and all the new things that they'll be introducing separate from the Skywalker Saga, I'm also loving what Soule is doing here in tying small pieces together from the films and giving us that look in-between the frames, so to speak. I'm definitely curious to see what Zahra's story is and hope that it's not one that's told too quickly and I'm really curious to find out Lobot's fate since we never saw him again in the film side. That's a completely open area to work with and one that, as weird as it seems, I'm invested in after the bits that Soule put into the character previously. Looking forward to what's next. Charles Soule is becoming one of my favorite writers as he continues to surprise me with another great issue of Star Wars! No let down at all as far as I'm concerned. Soule clearly is a fan and takes pride and care in filling in this huge gap in the Star Wars universe. Read Full Review
The book might be missing Han, but Lando's dynamic adds a compelling new cog into a well-oiled machine, making for an exciting experience. Read Full Review
Star Wars #3 is a great addition to a new series set after The Empire Strikes Back. Read Full Review
Prelude:
Soule's Star Wars has been wonderful so far. Let's check out this issue.
The Good:
Some really good work on Zahra and the fallout of A New Hope with the Death Star.
Really like the three person story on Cloud City.
The Imperial view on the Rebels is cool to see.
Saiz's art is great here.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
Another great issue from Soule showing how to handle multiple stories at once, can't wait for the next one.
Very exciting. I’m loving Lando w/ the twins. Leia in carbonite seemed a little dumb to me.
Leia getting frozen in carbonite was surprising and it’s always great to see Lando smooth talk and trick his way out of trouble. This issue also answered a common question of what happened to Lobot. A decent issue. But why use the resources and freeze Leia in carbonite when you can use binders and stun guns for free?
I liked the ending but it was a slow issue overall
