An incredible issue with so much going on, Star Wars fans will be tired after reading this, but hungry for more. Vader shows himself to be vulnerable, powerful, and still pining for Padm. The visuals are as strong as the story. Your collection is not complete without this stunning saga. Highest possible recommendation. Read Full Review

An action-heavy issue that promises a huge return on Soule's last issue in two weeks. Darth Vader is a must read series to the bitter Sith end. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Dec 4, 2018

Darth Vader works through this penultimate installment in a great way. I love the layouts and the double-page aspects of them as it gives it a really rich and powerful feeling, particularly with how the locals are dealt with. The color design for the book is fantastic and I find myself really wanting to have a book focusing on Momin's story to see what the galaxy was like back in the day and his position within it. The focus on Vader is strong here, of course, and seeing the way he's pursuing his goal at all costs and cementing more of his own power is thoroughly engaging. Good stuff all around and a reminder of just how much I'm going to miss this run. Read Full Review

The penultimate chapter in this series made good on what most Vader fans want to see, which obviously involves seeing the Sith Lord rally his Stormtroopers in a brutal assault on Mustafar against an army of lava fleas as they charge on his fortress. Read Full Review

I'm actually really interested to see were this is going and the art was super fun to look at. As weird as it is to root for Darth Vader it was actually really cool to see what all he can do. Read Full Review

Camuncoli's art is still solid in my opinion, I think it fits the series well. Overall, it was a pretty solid issue. Despite Momin's death, it doesn't feel like too much was advanced or answered. I'm still looking forward to the big finale, though I'm slightly concerned because I didn't think the ending to Soule's other ongoing, Poe Dameron, was as satisfying as it could have been. No matter what, I'm still hyped for Soule's next projects, which he seems to be especially excited about. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp Jul 11, 2022

As we've seen in previous issues of the series, recent events continue to flood Vader with memories as the machine's discovery leads to memories of the Death Star's destruction of Alderaan and Padm pleading with Anakin to find the good within himself (which is also set against Sab's recent attempts to play on Anakin's old allegiances). Stunned momentarily, but far from defeated, Vader goes after the fleeing governor likely leading to a deadly confrontation. Read Full Review
