Solid story, nothing too fancy. Really good art and the plot was just interesting enough to keep me turning the page without thinking about how much I had left to go. Will definitely pick up the rest of the series.

Pretty solid. The art isn't my favorite but it was nice to see Joy Mercado. Hopefully this series will morph into something more than random villain temporary obtains a symbiote.

I knew exactly what to expect going into this. David Michelinie writes throwback Venom stories with structures and voices that drive me up the wall. I'm no big fan of Gerardo Sandoval's super-exaggerated art style, either.
This first issue lived up (or down) to my expectations. But the conflict this sets up for the series looks interesting. Beyond my subjective distaste, the biggest faults that I'd argue are objective problems are an uneven pace and some clumsy exposition.
While it certainly isn't my cup of tea, it's nearly a good comic.
