All in all, I think this was a lot of fun. Any time Venom and Spidey get together, it's usually a good time, but this felt different with a different dynamic between the two. Spider-Man with his never-ending positivity and Venom in his vulnerable state of mind makes for a very different kind of bond. Venom War: Spider-Man #2 is a great continuation of its predecessor, and I can't wait to see what's next. Read Full Review

Another good issue, Venom War: Spider-Man #2 makes me want Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly on Amazing Spider-Man, stat! They understand Peter's quippy and heroic nature while delivering big action moments and good stakes. Read Full Review

Kelly and Lanzing have a really good grasp on Spidey. Land? That's another story.

Good writing and good art, good drama, interesting plot. Didn't expect this tie-in to be as good as it is. This has been much less about the Venom War than it is about the current state of Peter's relationship with MJ and how he feels about it with the symbiote throwing his inner thoughts in his face. Really good stuff.

Man, I really wish Land wasn't drawing this. I'm an avid Land hater, not even solely because he's a known-tracer. I just genuinely think his art isn't very good. Aside from that, though, Lanzing & Kelly continue to display their relatively strong grip on Peter's character. I like the story surrounding his feelings about Mary Jane, as well, even if I don't think they'll end up leading to anything hugely substantial in the grand scheme of things.
