Through this book, The McElroys perfectly married their talents with Marvel, and had a worthy artistic collaborator in Andr Lima Arajo. #5 sticks the landing, and is thrilling and funny in equal measure. Read Full Review
I think this issue improved upon the debut in almost every way. The team dynamic was better established and the villains are a lot more captivating here. Read Full Review
Andre Lima Araujo provides every member of the team a stand out moment in their showdown with Ares, one that is fast and furious, yet never undercuts the fun of this story. Read Full Review
War of the Realms: Journey into Mystery #5 guarantees to please McElroy fans, Marvel fans should be drawn in to see this art team tackle these fan-favorite characters. Read Full Review
In my opinion, Journey Into Mystery was the best tie-in to War of the Realms right up alongside Avengers. This first half of this issue showed our team of baby sitters save Laussa from Ares. The second half it is revealed Laussa herself influenced the team on their journey, and that Ares was being manipulated by that western ghost rider. The team dynamic is great and the art is some of the best in comics right now. Thori makes for some endless laughs and the McElroys have a great respect for continuity
The whole babysitting road-trip turns out to be a recruiting drive organized by unlikely forces that succeeds in pulling an unlikely MVP to the side of the angels. A big, cleverly-scripted fight, excellent character interactions, and a high-tide art performance all combine to close this series with a surprisingly fun bang.
A solid finale. Overall this was a fun miniseries, with a slow start.
Us ? We're just the babysitters."
Pretty cheesy but, overall, it's not bad as a break into the industry for the McElroys. As a tie-in it is completely skippable and unneeded. Check it out for kid-friendly, lighthearted comedy if that's your thing.
Ah good, it was even more pointless than I originally thought.
