PLACE YOUR BETS - ON SURVIVAL!
When Balder the Brave's unofficial babysitter's club runs out of cash in Nevada, they hit on a foolproof plan: a casino heist! They just have to disguise a few famous heroes, a cyborg, an Asgardian god and a talking dog to do it. With the luck of baby Laussa on their side, nothing could go wrong! Unless of course they stumble upon...a convention of SUPER VILLAINS? What the heck, Nevada. Looks like the heroes will need a miracle in the desert to get out of this one!

Journey Into Mystery #4 aims to evoke the visual pacing of Ocean's Eleven with the humor of Spy, and manages both with aplomb. The most disappointing thing about this issue is that there's only one more left; this team has done a stellar job together, and it'll be a shame if this is the last time they ever collaborate on a book like this for Marvel. While fans of the McElroys won't be surprised at their adept grasp of humorous dialogue, the penultimate issue of "Journey Into Mystery" showcases their flexibility as writers. This one has it all, including two raucous battles and a heist. Read Full Review
A henchmen convention is a fun idea.
If they had killed Thori, I would've rioted.
Though still readable, Journey Into Mystery 4 is the worst issue of the series yet. Kate, Thori, and Death Locket are drawn horribly, among others. This issue had some weird and inconsistent pacing. For example, the conflict with the wild west ghosts is rushed to completion as the ghost cowboys have been only fighting the team because they were worshiping Laussa, who is half demon. The revelation that Laussa is part demon because Odin and Freya conceived her in Surtur's dimension seemed unnecessary and confusing. Also, this issue had a lot less humor. I did enjoy Ares in the second half of the issue though and I love the McElroys' respect for continuity.
How do you say, “I don’t care about this pointless digression” in henchperson?
