Brubakers Winter Soldier is a series that has surprised a lot of people, myself included. And it will continue to surprise people. It is just so damn good that I cant believe that it doesnt out sell 90% of Marvels current books. Be that as it may, I am going to continue to enjoy this book while its here. You know it just aint gonna be the same without Ed. Read Full Review

    IGN - Benjamin Bailey Sep 26, 2012

Butch Guice does his usual magic with his pencil work. There's a dark, muddy quality to the book, like this is corner of the Marvel Universe where few superheroes would dare to tread. The killer look of this issue is enhance by the awesome talent of Bettie Breitweiser. Her color art is seriously mind blowing. The reds and oranges look like fire, burning up the darkness on every page. And yet, the book still feels dark, like it's drenched in shadows. Everything about the Winter Soldier is brilliant. This series is so freaking good, it'll make you weep. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - Alex Evans Oct 1, 2012

As is the usually the case with Winter Soldier, it's really not a question of what's good and what's bad, but more one of simply “how good?” While it may not be the loudest book in Marvel's line-up, it's been nothing less than solid for 11 issues now and once again, I find myself with nothing to really complain about. Marvel Disassembled - Kyle Mc Feb 5, 2013

Whoever authorised Hawkeyes glasses needs to be punished because they look absolutely ridiculous. Its not like Clint has never worn standard purple sunglasses before or anything but these are just awful. Aside from that gripe the combination of the layouts with the team of Guice and Breitweisers pencils and colours is undoubtedly the standout factor of the book. Read Full Review

    X-Man's Comic Blog - x-man75 Oct 2, 2012

This issue was a bit of a step backwards from the total awesomeness that was the last issue.  I mean it was okay, but it was also a whole lot of nothing...  Hawkeye and Bucky wandered around for a while, fought some AIM agents, and Leo told Bucky his nefarious plot.  Which was pretty cool actually...  With Leo living in the past, it makes sense he'd want both Bucky and Widow working with him.  Leo's interactions with the weapon's maker here were also pretty good, as he made it obvious that he wanted everything Bucky has, and wanted to earn it.  I'm still looking forward to the final confrontation between Bucky and Leo(in a HUGE way!), but this issue was a bit of a sidestep. Razorfine - Alan Rapp Oct 3, 2012

Brubaker is managing to drag out the story in a way that still makes it compelling, and hinting at Novokov's deeper plans involving his new weapons and Natalia, but I have mixed feelings about the art of Butch Guice as several panels appear rushed. For fans. Read Full Review
