X-Force #26 was a great read. Kyle and Yost delivered the best chapter in the Second Coming event since the one-shot that started this whole event, which they also wrote. While I hate how predictable and forced the Nightcrawler death was structured from the beginning of the event Kyle and Yost handled the death well. Combine the great writing with Choi and Obacks spectacular artwork and this issue delivers everything you expect from a big event. I am now looking forward to the next chapter of this event more than I was before this issue. If you have been reading the Second Coming event this is an issue that will not disappoint. With this latest issue, the stakes have been raised even higher for the remaining mutants. Major blood has been spilt and you can rest assured that certain members of the team will be looking for payback. There weren't any big hints as to what's in store for the rest of the crossover now that Hope has finally reached Utopia, but I welcome the idea of not knowing exactly what will happen next. In spite of a much-publicized death that could have been executed better, this issue fired on all cylinders. Kyle and Yost deliver a riveting script, and Choi and Oback make it that much better with their visuals. The first act of Second Coming concludes here, and boy, has it been a wild ride. Second Coming has just got really serious – deadly serious, if you’ll forgive the terrible pun, and with Kyle and Yost leading the charge, and exciting tie-ins like Hellbound and Blind Science ready to drop, it is fast on it’s way to being considered legendary among X-Crossovers. Read Full Review

A bunch of androids and people who dont seem to like mutants are after some red hair girl and Nightcrawler gets killed trying to save her. Aw, give me a break. I didnt spoil anything you didnt already know a was coming. Its the only reason I picked up this book at the comic book store this week. I like Nightcrawler, like most of you do and Im sorry to see him go. Having said that this storyline is ridiculous and totally failed to grab my attention. I know Im expected to read the blurb in the first page that explains what Im supposed to read, but Im getting lazy and if a comic book cannot be enjoyed without extensive research in the past, for a recent storyline, chances are its not a good comic book. This is not a good comic book. It looks good though. It looks very good and has good art. But the good art only serves to cover the paucity of story inside. Nothing happens here. So far, "Second Coming" has mostly been an action-driven story and it's succeeded as such. There's been a nice build as each side has its little victories, but this issue looks to offer Bastion's forces a pretty big win and it doesn't seem earned " for him or the story.
