The pacing issues are really the only thing that kept this issue from making a stronger run at the top spot than it did, but I really can't emphasize enough how great of a comic it really is. Choi and Oback put on a clinic here and the superb chemistry that they have with Kyle and Yost make this one of the most compelling XMen comics in quite some time. Even if you haven't been reading Second Coming, I highly recommend this one just for the craft of it. Read Full Review

X-Force #27 was a great read. After three disappointing chapters Second Coming picks up the pace again as the X-Men face extinction. If you have been reading Second Coming so far you will enjoy this issue by Kyle, Yost, Choi, and Oback. It really delivers on what you expect from this X-Men crossover. Here is hoping that now that we are entering the last few chapters that the X-writers can keep things up. Read Full Review

Second Coming has been fairly consistent thus far, but it'll need a solid concluding chapter to make it truly memorable. As far as I'm concerned, they haven't dropped the ball, but I'm yet to be completely astonished. Read Full Review

The Comic Addiction - Paul Steven Brown May 26, 2010

At least we got some action in this week’s installment of Second Coming. Last week saw the Bastion’s master plan swing into full gear with the erection of an impenetrable dome over Utopia and parts of San Francisco. Now we get to see the X-Men and friends fight for their lives with their backs literally up against a wall. There are some major injuries and one mutant in particular will be forever changed by this battle. Read Full Review

After several issues of losing steam, this chapter of "Second Coming" finally kicks the story back into high gear after an initial misstep. With just five chapters (and a handful of tie-ins) to go, that's a good thing; it's nice to see some pep back in this crossover. For readers who might've been getting a little bored, rest assured, the fun is starting to return. Read Full Review

X-Men Second Coming is setting up the ending, despite the fact that it is still four issues off. This comic book finds Cyclops launching his last ditch effort to end the invasion. Cyclops is going to have to live with some hard decisions if this all works out but it makes for some good drama in this issue. I've been waiting for this crossover to suck me in like Messiah Complex did three years ago. And this issue was close, but not close enough. Read Full Review
