ANGELS AND DEMONS PART 4
With the extinction of mutantkind looming over their heads, X-Force must do battle with one of their deadliest foes, the one called Bastion!
Not much story progression, aside from the creation of the Archangel choir, but a lot more character development than I expected from this title and I'm seeing signs of some long term viability in this hack and slash book. Read Full Review
All in all, I'll give this a 5 out of 5 for the art, because I really do like it (but personal preference is everything when it comes to art), and 4 for the story, because I am still a bit confused about what we know, and what I'm missing out on having not read every X-Men comic in existence. As for the artwork, Clayton Crain has finally found a good look for body structure. His character movements seem much more natural, too. The action is also much easier to follow than previous issues, with storytelling elements stepped up. This is particularly apparent with the Wolfsbane sequences, which come across as brutal and striking. If you were waiting for X-Force to finally find its “x factor” (no pun intended), the wait is over. All signs point to this issue being a turning point for the series and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. Read Full Review
X-Force continues to be kind of irritating in its refusal to be anything more than just decent. All the parts are present for an entertaining book, but they don't seem to ever work in unison. I'm hoping that with time the title will eventually hit its stride. Read Full Review
While it's not perfect, "X-Force" is at least entertainingly imperfect, and there are far worse positions a title could be in. Kyle, Yost and Crain have many more chances to make their work click properly, and if they throw as much passion into every issue as much as they do this one, we'll all reap the benefits soon enough. Incredible issue. Terrifying and gripping story, and the art was top notch.
I have really enjoyed this series so far and the art is tremendous
Brutal issue. Pretty intense.
