SOLOMON KANE IS BACK!
The 'Sword of Vengeance' slashes into his own new series, SOLOMON KANE: THE SERPENT RING!
Kane battles from the Barbary Coast; across Southern Europe, to the canals of Venice, as a band of rogues forms around him in their quest for the fabled Serpent Ring of Set! It's the much-anticipated return of Solomon Kane from Patrick Zircher (Superman, Iron Man, Savage Avengers, Moon Knight)!
Since brevity is the soul of wit, I shall be brief. This first issue of Solomon Kane: The Serpent Ring is one of the best comics I have ever seen and an early candidate for this year's Eisner Awards. The story is gripping, the art complex, and everything an action adventure comic should be. This is another triumphant adaptation of the heroes of Robert E. Howard from Titan Comics and the makings of a magnum opus for artist Patrick Zircher. Read Full Review
Overall, this first issue does an excellent job of depicting the world in which Solomon Kane exists, and I'm looking forward to seeing how things evolve in future issues. Read Full Review
Patrick Zircher delivers a visually stunning and historically rich adventure in Solomon Kane: The Serpent Ring #1, blending pulpy action with deep world-building. While the heavy exposition and limited focus on Kane may deter some, the series sets up a promising, thrilling journey filled with historical detail, supernatural intrigue, and intense action. SOLOMON KANE: THE SERPENT RING #1 s a richly constructed, gorgeously rendered start to Solomon Kane's latest adventure when he comes into possession of a dangerous artifact. Patrick Zircher goes the distance (and a few miles extra) to create a tale brimming with detail and authenticity. That said, readers may find this issue a little too dense to enjoy without multiple read-throughs. Read Full Review
Real quality from Mr Zircher!
The artwork is great and the characterization of Kane is pretty spot on. I'm not sure about taking the story to Italy as I never saw Kane as a world traveler. I like that he accidentally kills a passenger and gets roped into going on a quest he doesn't feel like doing. The action is good and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
