For months now, we have been told that this book will severely impact the Valiant Universe. We've been told the special covers warning us were no joke. We were told to be prepared, that death was just around the corner. Well, Rafer, Darick, and the rest of the Valiant crew were spot on! This is one story, one event, that people really need to pay attention to now. It will only pick up pace and intensity as we continue on! This Wednesday, the entire Valiant Universe will be upended, as #massacre begins its decent towards war! Read Full Review

One of the reasons the death which occurs in HARBINGER RENEGADE #5 has such impact is thanks to Valiant Entertainment's shared universe. When something in one comic series can affect any character and/or any title, you go from being a shocking incident in a series to being an event-level shakeup with lasting implications. If you're already looking ahead to HARBINGER WARS 2, this is the catalyst forwhat will be the monumental event of 2018. We've only scratched the surface with the "Massacre" story arc, and by all indications, we've only begun to see the Valiant Universe-wide effect. HARBINGER RENEGADE #5 changes everything. Things will never be the same. The Road to Harbinger Wars 2 has begun! Read Full Review

What transpires is pulse-pounding, violent, and bloody as hell. It's as dramatic and emotionally draining as you'll see in comics. Rafer Roberts has executed a tricky story from the Hard C.O.R.P.S. point of view and are forced to understand their side while also rooting for Generation Zero and the psiots. The battle is a serious and deadly confrontation as promised. Darick Robertson and Diego Rodriguez bring it all to life with the energy, tension, detail, color, and drama that a seismic event like this deserves. Read Full Review

This is an explosive debut in “The Road To Harbinger Wars 2”. I'm looking forward to where this leads to. Given that it is Valiant, we can be sure that the effects will be long-lasting and affect the entire Valiant Universe in some fashion. It is rare for a story to unsettle me like this one, but I relish stories like this that can grab me on an emotional level. Read Full Review

It is so great to have Harbingerback from its hiatus. Though the regular cast did not appear, the stage has been set for their strong comeback. Their return marks a new bloody chapter in the Valiant universe, and I don't know if we are ready for just how crazy things are going to get. Read Full Review

If you're a Valiant fan, whether of the publisher in general or of this property, then you're going to want to read this. Be prepared for it to be a little disappointing given all the buzz, but I also expect this to fly off the shelves because of the warning on the cover. Read Full Review

I'm really not sure what my final judgement on this comic should be. I have no idea who these characters were or why they were fighting, and the cliffhanger ending means nothing to me, so I just don't know what to think about a large part of this comic. To me, this comic was a well-drawn, but somewhat confusing action-scene, and that's it. I can't exactly recommend it, so I'm leaning on a negative score, but again, someone who has more context might feel differently. Read Full Review

Clearly I don't think that this book should ever be put on hold given that Harbinger is an essential tentpole, and it's building up to the massive Harbinger Wars 2 event next year. But more importantly, when you build up a massive hype, you've gotta be rock solid and I feel this issue was flawed in terms of the writing and the art. That is something that can (and should) be addressed, since I expect this title will continue for at least another year or two. Read Full Review
