Ninjak #0 is a milestone to celebrate for what it delivers to fans who have either followed it up to this point or are new readers finding a place to jump into the story. A bit of a fast read for the size of the issue, though you get the right idea of what makes Colin who he is a Ninjak and what you can continue to expect from him moving forward with the first issue in November. Zero issues are usually bullshit. It's just the facts, but this one is a great endcap to a magnificent run and manages to set up the next chapter in the story. If you read Kindt's run you'll be left with the familiar feels that he injected into all of his issues, but if you haven't like I said, this is a condensed version of his run giving you everything you need to know in twenty or so pages. Interestingly enough despite this issue wrapping up one writer's take on the character and introducing another,Ninjak #0is brilliantly positioned as an excellent entry point to the character for new and returning fans. Where as Kindt's story gives you a great base understanding of the character, it's Gage's tale that will make you want to pick up the new series in November. Ultimately, a successful issue. While this is a flashback issue, it is all done with original art and a unique format. While the bottom half of the pages relate history, the top half entails a current mission that opens leads to the next volume, Ninja-K, which will be written by Christos Gage. Read Full Review
