Lucifer is playing house. The devil arrives in the village of Haybury, West Yorkshire with designs on building a quaint new life for himself. Unfortunately for Lucifer, the universe has other plans for him, as he finds himself directly in the crosshairs of a cosmic hunting party. Meanwhile: a dead soldier grows impatient, a prophecy is given, and a cat speaks.
Brilliantly written. Wonderfully written. Dark, thoughtful, and mysterious. Lucifer continues to show me that there is always another plan in motion; spilling from the thoughts of a restless mind cursed with immortality. I remain enthralled. I'll be patiently waiting for the next installment. Read Full Review
John Constantine looks like he may play a role in the coming issues, making this book a must add to your pull-list. Lucifer, as well as other Sandman Universe titles, are a big step-away from superhero comics. The books provide a more mystical and cryptic tone, rather than the lighthearted vibes you get with other DC and Marvel properties. I am claiming Lucifer to be one of, if not the best, books I am reading on the shelves right now, and I have not budged on that statement. Lucifer is a exceptional series and it seems to be getting even better with each issue. Read Full Review
If there was such a thing as a Cozy horror story, it would be this comic. There's talking cats and brutal murders, all against the backdrop of an english seascape. The arrival of John Constantine, making his tour through the Sandman Universe books, adds to the tension, but it's the surprising guest-stars at the end of the book that call back to another classic property in the Neil Gaiman library. I thoroughly enjoyed Lucifer #14 from start to finish. I would suggest this issue to readers new to the series. It allows you to get a feel for the character without having to know everything that came before. Pick up a copy of Lucifer #14 at your local comic book store or however you get your comics! Carrying the traditionally dark tone of this title, a certain lightheartedness is inserted this month that makes #14 a real treat to read. Read Full Review
This series feels too good to exist in a time that isn't 90s' Vertigo.
This was an enjoyable read for me, I’m super excited for this plot! Also I’m so happy about Constantine being here, and I loved his reaction to the hardware store.
Finally we see more of Lucifer's powers and his whole house building mission and interactions with the shopkeeper was great. Having Constantine pop in at the end makes me very excited to see what's next.
What loses points in this issue is that I'm not sure that the whole "God hunt" prophecy doesn't sound all that great and doesn't seem that exciting. It should have been fleshed out a little more.
This was a good issue. It was solid. Not the most bombastic or anything. The thing that really excites me here is Constantine. Otherwise, this would simply be a good issue and not much else.
