"It's gonna be a slobber knocker!" Honestly, this book wasn't really on my radar until Chris at ComicTropes picked it as his #1 comic of 2022. If you are familiar with our site, most know I am a huge fan of ComicTropes. Chris's research, production quality, and knowledge are top notch.  Death, loss, perseverance, necromancy, and wrestling?!? Loved everything about this book. A fun, quirky, crazy, heart-wrenching original story. Worth every penny. The series came to a close with issue #7 in December 2022. The collected trade paperback was just released earlier this month (March 2023). Its too early in the year for the award season but the series has received great reviews from both critics and readers (4.7 on Amazon, 4.6 on Goodreads, and more

I do not say this lightly, but this honestly feels like a masterclass in writing for this style of book. Funny, impactful, heart-felt but also just so bizarre at times. I dont think anyone could have written the framework of this story than DWJ. This book is good for almost any reader. I dont even like wrestling, I find it just an act, rather pointless to watch. But DWJ made me love this story. It really is the journey of a girl and her father and a path of hope and redemption. He handles the conclusion quite well considering he goes and writes a conclusions/penultimate issue that could be quite inflammatory/handled badly, but he is such a good writer he knocked it out of the park. Please read this, it is a wonderful book that will more

I have loved every single thing I've read from DWJ, but Do a Powerbomb remains a top favourite. It translates the greatest things about wrestling (its beautiful violence and over-the-top characters) so well into comic form.

Amazing characters - a plot that only happens in creative comics, the action is impactful and easy to follow. My wrestler heart was melting. R.I.P. Eddie

Heaps of fun. Like pro wrestling it doesn't take itself too seriously and yet never drops it's pokerface. Some great imagination in both the art style which has real character, and a take on manga style action, as well as a zanny story which just keeps upping the ante while ceaselessly dealing pain to the protagonists. It is sooooo much fun!
