One of the few books I think is worth the $5 price tag.
Absolute Batman #21
Friends become enemies. Enemies become friends. Final forms are revealed, and Scarecrow’s reign of terror threatens to upend everything.
Proof that bad and woke comics can be successful.

I don't think anything here is. Things we wouldn't have batted an eyelash at once upon a time have been extremified for the last ten years and now EVERYTHING can feel like it has a political "vibe". Maybe saying the soft spot is where the real power comes from? Prob referring to the series as a whole. Race/gender swaps ect. Woke? Maybe a little. I don't think so, but bad??? No way. This title is epic.
I only read this because the cover really caught my attention and I'm glad I did. This is the first issue of Catwoman I've read since the whole wedding debacle so I wasn't caught up on the current plot. The fact I really didn't need to be in order to enjoy this book is one of the things I was highly impressed with. Catwoman #87
Black Mask has a special game for Catwoman to play—and the prize is Holly Robinson’s life! Selina better hurry up though, because time’s running out on the clock!
Little slow, the dialogue is hit or miss (mostly on the miss side for me), but I love the concept and art and I'm excited to see where it goes!
M1: Monster Racing League #1
An all-new ONGOING series launch from legendary JAE LEE (THIS ENDS TONIGHT, SEVEN SONS)! When 17-year-old Dev moves to Japan, she stumbles into an underground world of illegal street racing, where speed is power and mutation wins championships. This high-octane sci-fi drama, set in a near-future Tokyo, is Fast and Furious by way of K-Pop Demon Hunt...
The premise is a little tired but this title could still have legs, we just don't see much more than the basic set up in this first issue so there's no telling. The art style of Jae Lee lends itself more to dark and bleak coloring and here that's not the case. It was a bit jarring at first but after a second read it felt more normal. Am I the only one who felt like that at first?
