"Source Code" part one! The Birds of Prey tentatively accepted working with the new Oracle, even though they knew he'd gone down a dark road to find them...but did they have any idea how dark? His story unfolds here-including the identity of the person who trained him, to whom he owes a dangerous debt!

DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd Jun 14, 2017

Batgirl and the Birds of Prey continues to feel familiar and maintain a continuity from it's classic incarnation, yet also be fresh and contemporary. There is just the right amount of nostalgia for long time fans but not so much that it alienates new readers. Hard to go wrong with this title! Read Full Review

Ok, it's about time to wrap this up. Overall, I adored issue #11! Julie & Shawna Benson's thoughtful characterisation of Gus, The Birds of Prey supporting him after his revelation, the emotional weight of the story and that jaw-dropping ending made issue #11 my favourite issue yet. The only downside was the overabundant exposition, which consequently rendered the story longer than it should have. If you haven't read issue #11 yet, do yourself a favour and read it now! You'll not be disappointed! Read Full Review

We got a couple of huge reveals in this one that were all very exciting for me to read. Without spoiling anything for the readers, I will say that all the time you've spent reading the last 11 issues of Batgirl and the Birds of Prey has not been wasted. Julie and Shawna Benson know how to write my favorite comic book character: Batgirl. And I'm super excited to see what comes next! Read Full Review

Stylistically the art is different than a lot of mainstream comics, yet with each issue of this title the style grows on me a little more, enough to say I like it and am now on board. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez Jun 19, 2017

Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #11 was a good start to a new story arc that places the focus the new Oracle, Gus Yale. Delving into Gus' backstory helped create a better connection between the Birds of Prey and their new Oracle. Calculator and Catwoman's involvement adds further interest in how the story may go as we get to see the team deal with the two villains at the same time. Read Full Review

Thankfully, the art isn't bad enough to distract from the story but this is one issue of Batgirl and The Birds of Prey that isn't up to its usual high standard. This is unfortunate because there's the start of a decent story here underneath the layers of exposition. Hopefully things will be back to normal next month. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Eric Shea Jun 14, 2017

While I wanted to really like this issue because of how I thought the series had been getting better, overall it turned out to be pretty weak sauce that gave us some more backstory to one of our characters until completely switching gears to become something else that doesn't jive with what's going on in other DC books right now.  The art in this book is still great, but the story came off kind of boring and even tried to force a mental health PSA into the middle of it that just felt odd as hell.  Read Full Review

All in all this was a decent comic. It's not a book that you should go out of your way to read, but if you pick it up you should be satisfied with the overall story and art. I place this comic firmly at average. Read Full Review

Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away, or get the message across that this is a title which desperately needs to be fixed. Criticism, as Winston Churchill once said, is necessary because it calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. I'm not criticising this to be mean, I'm doing it because I really want this to be a great comic book. Maybe at some point, someone will listen. Read Full Review

Don't buy this book. Please. Force DC's hand to either change the creative team, or cancel this book. Fans of the Birds of Prey brand deserve better than this. They deserve much better than this! Read Full Review
