The Spoiler is on the case to find the truth behind the nightmare at Arkham!
This issue is officially in my top three best issues of Batman Eternal thus far. If you aren't treating yourself to this issue, I can only assume that it is because you hate yourself, because there is nothing in the issue itself that would warrant you not buying it. This is the kind of comic I wish I could read every week. Action packed, emotional, and expertly paced. I tip my hat to you Higgins and Fabok. You have shown a real mastery of your crafts in this issue. Read Full Review
The writing and artwork here were all solid as well. Good dialogue, characterization (except I don't quite get why Spoiler ran off when she was already near Batman and could have given him all the information she already knows), solid pacing, and genuinely nice emotional scenes. Also, if this is the final issue that Fabok gets to draw for this run, then he gets to go out a good note. His work is still incredibly strong, from his depictions of characters to intense moments (like the final pages of the book). I wish he could keep up his Batman Eternal duties, but it is what it is.Best Moment: Read Full Review
This issue was so great! Higgins nailed it this issue, and Fabok certainly didn't hurt either. Read Full Review
This issue really sets up the series going forward. Hush's big plan has been set in motion and things are about to get really bad for Bruce. I have been hot and cold with this weekly, but this issue has me very interested to see where it's going from her on out. Read Full Review
Eternalcontinues to be a (mostly) bankable run and this week ends on a great note. HOPEFULLY, it picks up right where it left off in the next issue. Read Full Review
Another great issue comes out of Batman Eternal #32 as Kyle Higgins keeps the story pushing forward with great momentum. Hush has been an opposing threat for a while now, but the magnitude of his agenda in Gotham has just been raised. Read Full Review
Great issue this month. Hush has upped the ante on Batman and its clearly going to take a supreme effort to not only save the city, but save his reputation as both Batman and Bruce Wayne. As long as the side plots are able to wrap up or dovetail into the main plot, this will continue to be a great read. Read Full Review
While it's not the series' strongest chapter, Batman Eternal #32 keeps the ball rolling on the most engaging Batman event in a while. Read Full Review
Jason Fabok turns in a good outing in this issue. His art here is much grittier than what he's doing on Justice League, but obviously the darkness suits the tone of the story. Read Full Review
I know, I know. Adam, you have done three of these DC Weekly columns and all three times Batman Eternal has been the pick of the week. Well, deal with it. It is the best weekly book hands down, even on its bad weeks. Read Full Review
Eh. Batman Eternal returns to lameness this week with a subpar issue that once again starts veering into strange, unfocused territory. It makes me ashamed to have actually liked the last issue, but I was distracted by the sheer awesomeness of Alfred teaming up with Bane. I guess I'm just easily distracted by shiny things. Jason Fabok has another strong issue and hits all the marks. The best reads for me are the ones that flow naturally and I don't have to stop and stare at panels to decipher them like hieroglyphics. Aside from the usual beautiful art his facial expressions really bring depth to a pretty straight forward story. It's obvious that there will be consequences when this story is all said and done as we get into the home stretch I'm excited. What has surprised me the most has been how much I've enjoyed the newer/less used pieces put on the board. I've looked forward to Vicky Vale,Bard,Penny-Two,Stephanie Brown and Harper more than the "family"
I don't think this really needs to be said anymore, but obviously, Eternal is ramping up more and more with each successive issue. It seems like it's gotten it's focus back, zeroing in on one major storyline going on, while teasing us with characters from other storylines to remind us that they're still there. We're also seeing some connections being made, like the Arkham story connecting to the Batman/Hush battle going on, while also throwing in Spoiler. Everything feels well paced, and well earned as far as reveals go. And while we knew that Alfred was going to come back to the cave because of "Batman" (main title), seeing that play out was still worth the price of admission. Jason Fabok is on art this week and delivers some fantastic wormore
More good stuff from Eternal. Somehow this serious manages to keep the quality above average week in and week out. Not to mention that this is one of the best covers yet.
Story wise, just another issue progressing the plot (the Ray Fawkes arc is over, thank heavens), nothing special, nothing bad. But the art was amazing. I just keep waiting for Jason Fabok issues to turn up in this series.
