This issue is by no means a necessary story in the Futures End Event.  In fact, you can skip it and really miss nothing.  However, you would be missing out on an issue that is sure to put a smile on Batwing and Batman Inc. fans' faces.  Palmiotti, Gray and Pansica end Luke Fox's story the way they started it, with some good fun. If you were expecting ties to the Futures End book, you will be very disappointed as it has little to do with that book other than being five years in the future and possibly a Cassandra Cain cameo. But if you are a fan of the Batwing title, then you will be happy to know that the title ends on a high note complete with a pretty good story by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, even though the dialogue is a little too campy at times and the action scenes seem a little drawn out. Whilst this issue is rather predictable and has no direct impact on the Futures End event; it is still a great one to have. As it does a good job of creating a once off issue that will keep fans of Batwing and Batman Inc happy. It has some great character designs and plenty of action packed pages that feature more fly kicks than, "The Dark Knight Rises" Luke Fox might just be the Batwing that we deserve! Read Full Review

This story in this issue definitely had potential, but unfortunately it all felt flat. The older criminal gang has quite a few potentially interesting members on the roster, but due to the format, we never get to learn more about them, or even come to care for them. Thats the thing with this issue, I just didnt care. It felt a lot like walking into the theater at the end of a summer blockbuster, having missed out on all the set-up and sitting through the final battle. Sure, if you love spectacle, not to mention gorgeous artwork by Eduardo Pansica (Wonder Woman: Odyssey), this is for you. But if you like substance, then you could certainly do better. I would have loved to have learned more about this future because it genuinely seems like an interesting story, but unfortunately we catch only a glimpse. Read Full Review
