For any fan of Wally West, this issue is a must. The Speed Buggy aspect of the story is fun and well done, but it holds so much hope for Wally and Linda's future that it transcends the special nature of these DC/Hanna-Barbera team up issues. Read Full Review
The script is utterly absurd, totally ludicrous... and maybe the best thing Scott Lobdell has written in years. Read Full Review
A fun issue that's drawn with kinetic aplomb. Read Full Review
Dynamic artwork, surprise appearances, and beautiful colors only further emphasize the sheer fun of this DC Comics/Hanna-Barbera crossover. Read Full Review
Scott Lobdell and Brett Booth do a fine job at bringing Speed Buggy and his crew into the DC Universe while remaining true to the spirit of the character. Read Full Review
I was not expecting a lot of depth in the Hannah Barbara crossover books, but I was very happily surprised withThe Flash/Speed Buggy #1 and will be checking out the other crossover books. Read Full Review
While these cartoon team-up books are not known for their gripping stories, occasionally one will be fun to read. Unfortunately, this one wasn't it. The majority of this story is an origin story for Speed Buggy, which would have been ok if the story didn't try to be a complex, speed force, timeline changing story. For me, the epilogue really saves this book. Unfortunately, it's only three pages. Read Full Review
This wasn't a terrible book, but it also wasn't really good enough to justify more than a 2.5 out of 5, with the caveat that I'm not a huge fan of either character to begin with, and this did nothing to change that opinion. Read Full Review
Well, they can't all be winners. Spinning out of the obscure talking-car cartoon and written by the man behind such brilliant (not) New 52 characters as Bar Tor and H'el, Flash/Speed Buggy Special #1 is easily the weakest of the entire wave of cartoon crossovers Read Full Review
For Wally West fans, this special is a must read. For Speed Buggy on the other hand, I love how Lobdell integrated this character into the DC Universe, and almost made me wish that he was actually part of the Flash Family. Overall, a great issue!
Really fun issue with EXCELLENT art and coloring. It was a delight reading this.
There were some feel-good moments and lots of references to Wally's awesome Flash run, but please never make Donna Troy talk in hashtags again...
Long exposition monologues that serve no purpose, awful cringe-worthy jokes, broken postures, and disjoined paneling. Who thought Scott Lobdell or Brett Booth were good ideas?
