A team member is possessed, and the House of Mystery is about to enter the unknown Void of Non-Being! Who will be left on the team by this issues end?
Not just a good issue but a surprisingly strong one that makes the whole series it's a part of even better. A tour de force of confident writing and art while still delivering what has made the series so appealing thus far: an opportunity to spend 20 pages a month hanging out with a cool bunch of characters inside the House of Mystery. This is the start to a very interesting story, one that plays with character motivations, gods, monsters, magic, dimensional travel, and more. With a fascinating tale to tell and incredible artwork to match, it's a really good jumping-on point for anybody looking for a different kind of superhero book. Read Full Review
While DeMatteis has been on the title awhile it seems that the collective of Andres Guinaldo and him is the greatest thing to happen to this title in awhile. I love DeMatteis's stories and Guinaldo draws these characters better than anyone in the title's run, so just make sure you go get issue 30 on because they're just beautiful. This issue is no exception as we jump into a very heavy Dead Man story, that will leave all you Boston Brand lovers asking for more. So get out there and pick up JLD so you too can enjoy all the magical excitement that only this title can offer. Read Full Review
It's nice and fresh to see DeMatteis spotlighting other team members like Deadman and Nightmare Nurse on these post-Blight issues. Amazing job overall and the art is on point but could be better (missing Janin...).
The art is not as it used to be, but the writing has been really good with DeMatteis at the wheel.
Good to have Deadman in the spotlight
