Milestones 30th anniversary feels like its off to a solid start with Static. Next up: the first issue of the Icon vs. Hardware mini-series on the 14th. Then in March, theres the big 30th-anniversary special. The company had such impressive momentum when it started up 30 years ago. An unspecified amount of time has passed from the events of Static: Season One, and our titular hero has a new costume, a better control over his abilities, and more of a purpose in his home town of Dakota. Im very excited for this series. Vita Ayala and Nikolas Draper-Ivey absolutely smashed it with Statics return in Season One, so I have no doubt that Shadows of Dakota is going to be even better. Draper-Ivey continues to be one of the most interesting artists in superhero comics with his manga influences shining through in emotional scenes like when Static talks to a Bang Baby who's being chased by Feds and accidentally blows up a city street. Read Full Review

Static, as usual, is a fun and interesting character and reading his adventures feels like reading one of Stan Lees books from so many years ago. I look forward to reading the next issue! I didnt read season 1 but this issue grabbed me. I loved the art and the new villain appearance raised the stakes for me.
