I can tell I'll be gushing and raving about this book, and series as a whole, for a long time. It blew away any kind of expectations I could've possibly had and delivered a truly thought provoking story with plenty of fun interactions, amazing drama, and spectacular action sequences. Nicole Maines and the creative team responsible for Suicide Squad: Dream Team should be really proud of themselves for producing such a thrilling and intriguing story. I honestly had no expectations for this series because I didn't know some of the characters, but I'm glad I was able to review it. It's really solid and a good precursor to Absolute Power. Now that it's over, I'm looking forward to what Maines writes next and if this team reunites on another project, I'll be there day one. I really enjoyed this short run, although I wish there were a little more to it. Maines does a very good job at giving us both a complete story, and a teaser of these characters, and she's co-writing Absolute Power: Ground Zero. Suicide Squad: Dream Team #4 wraps things up nicely in this arc while still leaving the door open to Dreamer's return. Read Full Review

I'll look past the ending because I am so fucking starved of good Amanda Waller character work, and we get that in this miniseries, and I have to support that. The other characters also have really good dynamics too. I haven't read much from Nicole Maines, but she's no slouch. I will have to pay attention to her name in the future.
A solid issue as a whole, but I especially liked the ending. I don't have much to say about the issue, but what I will talk about in this review has spoilers for the Twilight franchise (yes, the one with vampires and werewolves), so steer clear if you still plan on watching that (even though it's 2024) and you don't want spoilers. I'm not a huge fan of the movies, but, my favorite part about them is the twist in the final movie, in which the big fight between the two groups of vampires turns out to have merely been a vision that faked out the viewers. All of this to say that the ending of this book reminded me of that, which is specifically why I liked it.
