The third and final chapter of the critically lauded and Eisner-nominated secret history of the Amazons crescendos with the inevitable-an all-out war against the gods. When Zeus discovers the goddesses defied him by creating the Amazons, seemingly nothing can stop his fervor to eliminate their warriors...not even Hera herself. But the Amazons' numbers have grown, and there is a distinctly and unpredictably human element among their ranks now in Hippolyta and the tribe she leads. Their very fight for existence will alter the course of history itself and bring about one of the greatest protectors the world has ever known!
Scott delivers some beautifully detailed art on every page of this issue. The art is visually divine and draws you in with each page and panel. Read Full Review
Though the script lurches forward a bit all too slowly, the payoff is entirely worth it. Read Full Review
The three issues of this series ultimately feel very separate, and maybe this was intentional given the different art teams, but I am fascinated to see how this beautiful series reads as a completed whole. Read Full Review
Kelly definitivamente tem que dar continuidade a essa história apesar de ser limitada a conclusão é fenomenal e a introdução clássica da Diana foi divinal
As someone who's not really a huge fan of Wonder Woman or the Amazons, I really enjoyed this. The writing is stellar, but the art is next level. I'm definitely getting the hardcover, praying to whatever god there is that it's not comprised of construction paper and hope like DC's hardcovers usually are, and it'll be the only Wonder Woman comic I've ever put on my shelf.
A near perfect book
A wonderful conclusion to the tale of the Amazons. I hope there'll be more Historia in the future.
This book was pitch-perfect/exquisite!
Just epic. And Nicola Scott may be my favorite of the rotating artists of this series. Now let's hope we get books 4 to 9.
Incredible. Simply incredible.
The art here was better than book 2, but still not as good as in book 1. Unfortunately, while the writing wasn't necessarily bad, it just didn't really grab me. I found it hard to care about any of these characters. Also, Wonder Woman has extremely little to do with this story so it's kinda annoying that they put her name in the title just to sell copies when it would've been far more accurate to simply name it Historia: The Amazons.
I realize I'm in the minority of folks who wasn't completely wowed by this story. I feel like there were some really good ideas and concepts here that I COULD have loved, but I just didn't feel like it was executed as well as it could've been.
