G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Saturday Morning Adventures #1 takes me back the 35ish years and made me feel like a kid again. A brilliant book, which manages to evoke fond memories of Saturday Morning cartoons from the 1980s. I loved the little moral story tagged on at the end where a young kid is having trouble with his computer and gets a bit of advice from Mainframe who tells the kid that he should always think before taking any drastic actions. This sort of moral story at the end of a story was pretty common in 80s cartoons. I can't wait to see what happens in the next issue. I loved this. Read Full Review

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Saturday Morning Adventures #1 amazingly captures the feel of those crazy fun G.I. Joe episodes from the 1980s, right down to having a last page with a Knowing is half the battle lecture from Mainframe. I believe this book will be a 4-issue mini-series, but if the book stays this good and continues giving me those fuzzy nostalgic feelings, Ill be rooting for it to flip over to ongoing series status. Full disclosure, I was never really the biggest G.I. Joe cartoon fan growing up (loved the toys though), but watching this creative team sprinkle a little of their Ghostbusters fairy dust onto this classic franchise is a real treat. This is definitely a series I'm going to be sticking with for the next three issues. Read Full Review
The use of the animation models and flatted animation-style coloring make this one feel like a good memory for readers of a certain age, but it also works as a straightforward comic adventure. Read Full Review
Ever hang with your buddy, and they do something unexpectedly brilliant, and all you can do is shake your head in disapproval while you quietly laugh out a "you f@#$%^g idiot"?
Thats this book in a nutshell, it is so lovingly dumb, in the best of ways.
