Perfect reading for your little troopers or Padawans. The stories are quick, full of action, and look terrific. They're also sure to please veteran fans to feed their hunger for more tales set in a galaxy far, far away. IDW, you're keeping the Force alive. Read Full Review

As a way to reach out to younger audiences, both for Star Wars and comics themselves, I think that Star Wars: Adventures is pretty successful. Furthermore, it manages to fill in a few gaps in the canon, which is appreciated. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to share Star Wars or comics in general with their kids or are interested in Reys life before the movie or Jakku during the time of The Force Awakens. The stories are pretty thin, but this is a comic that's perfect for the young reader just discovering the Star Wars universe and, perhaps, not quite ready for the more grim side of the action. Read Full Review

For someone who specifically avoids all-ages comics, I'm going to keep reading Star Wars Adventures at least through the first story arc. I not only enjoyed it, but I will be reading this one to my kids. Star Wars is as hot as ever right now and anything remotely associated gets gobbled up by fans who then beg for more. As a fan, I am begging for more Star Wars Adventures. Read Full Review

Star Wars Adventures #1 is a nice opportunity to put Star Wars comics in front of a new audience. Its not flashy or glamorous, but it has enough character and heart to win readers over. The cover to the issue sports a large swath of fan favorites while the adventures within span the timeline of the movies. Ill be back for more, and I look forward to seeing where else in that galaxy far, far away we go to. Read Full Review

    Comicsverse - Aaron Young Sep 14, 2017

STAR WARS ADVENTURES #1 is a nice, kid-friendly story in the Star Wars universe. It focuses on classic characters Rey and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The art is satisfactory if a bit uninspired, but the writing by Cavan Scott is enjoyable and a breeze to read. Read Full Review

Star Wars Adventures #1 is a bit underwhelming compared to other Star Wars releases but it fits the younger target audience without placating them. Adventures is the comic equivalent to Forces of Destiny take that as you will. Read Full Review

Nerds On The Rocks - Logan Dalton Sep 6, 2017

I'm really half and half withStar Wars Adventures#1 thanks to the backup story being underwhelming. However, the Rey story had fun art from Derek Charm, and Cavan Scott writes her like the wide eyed, self sufficient hero that I loved fromThe Force Awakens. It's the continuing story so I'll continue to check out this new comic. Read Full Review

Star Wars Adventures #1 isn't your typical comic to feature the galaxy far, far away, but it is still a fun all ages series. Delivering two vastly different stories, that are entertaining in their own right, the creative team do a fabulous job of showcasing what this comic is all about, giving us more than enough reason to return for more. This kid friendly series has a nice start, featuring a story about Rey being forced to rescue Unkar Plutt, the blobfish looking pawn/slumlord. It's a cute, overtly kid-friendly story that's sure to delight tons of children, and a handful of adults. Read Full Review
