The Turtles are whisked away to another dimension by a stranger-Renet! Honestly, I'm left feeling very mixed on this annual. First and foremost, the story has quite a few rough spots and has no strong connections to the current story arc. However, it is occasionally funny, expands the mythos in a fun way, and Eastman's art is a consistent joy (especially when Pattison's coloring is included). I found myself very torn between 3 and a 4-stars, but seeing as Eastman's art delivered regularly and this issue essentially embraces the franchise's earlier years, I'll side with 4-stars. I have my gripes, but overall, it did put a smile on my face every now and then and I had a blast looking at these pages. However, if you're not a big fan of Eastman's artwork and you don't want to read something that feels like a dated standalone story, I'd strongly recommend holding onto your $7.99. Read Full Review
TMNT will always be my favorite thing about comics, and seeing Eastman put a lot of his classic character's attitude and art into this piece made the comic as fun as ever. The Turtles were crazy teenagers again yet still fighting serious butt giving readers that kick ass feeling that comes with the dudes. The story, again, wasn't anything too excited, and I really wish they would have spent more time with Casey and April. Of course, I love Casey, but we could have bounced from the present to the past with Casey to make some more fun happen. But I won't complain too much because all the memories of the old Turtles came rushing back with our featured artist. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles annual 2014 is okay. Older fans of TMNT will enjoy this as this gives off a feel that the classic comic book series is known for. Some of the younger fans might enjoy the annual, but will probably not buy it with some of the things that bring the annual down that I mentioned earlier. Fans of the IDW series will probably buy this for their collection. Chances are characters like Renet and Baltizar will probably come back by next year at least. Read Full Review
There's also the issue of price to consider. Clocking in at well over 40 pages, this is a pretty lengthy story as far as individual TMNT comics go. But $7.99 still seems a bit much to ask. Read Full Review

This comic was not for me, I powered through it since Im a fan. Other readers will love this annual just for Kevin Eastmans work alone. It all just depends on ones tastes and sensibilities. The story is almost self-contained, so it isnt exactly crucial to the overall storyline, at least not yet. If you are a completionist, though, and want to know everything going on in IDWs TMNT-verse, then pick it up. Read Full Review
Loved this issue and every TMNT book from IDW. My friend would do a really good job drawing all of the Turtles. Can I give you his contact info? He may have already sent it to you, but I really believe in him.
This will strike a chord with fans of the original TMNT comics. It captures that same sort of "doesn't take itself too seriously" fun that I love and feature both coloured and black & white interiors from Kevin Eastman. I wouldn't call it slow paced, but it does drag a little at times and, although it is oversized, it's priced about a dollar more than I want to pay for it.
