Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles
Jan 28, 2026GI Joe 18 marked a nice cool down after The Dreadnok War while further supplementing the Night Force ranks. Maybe its time for a spin-off Night Force mini-series (or ongoing) title? Even if its just in these smaller doses, the NF spotlights are always welcome as Williamson and company head to a major showdown next month with Duke confronting Hound and Clutch. Read Full Review

Jan 27, 2026G.I. JOE #18 is an excellent example of how to introduce a character. Roadblock's introduction into the Energon Universe emphasized what makes the character great. Making him a defender of the community he lives in does a lot to help separate himself from how other JOEs have been presented. He is a much needed character in the cast and hopefully is a permanent presence in this series in the near future. Read Full Review

Jan 28, 2026G.I. JOE #18 is a solid pivot away from the desert war and into character setup for the next phase. If you care about Roadblock as a character or the larger Energon Universe infrastructure, this issue does the work to make you invested in what comes next. The action is clean, the humor lands, and the frame of a retired warrior choosing principle over opportunity is genuinely compelling. If your comic budget runs thin and you only read the big arc chapters, you can skip this and pick up the next issue without major confusion. Read Full Review

G.I. Joe #18 was a super fun little interlude. A great way to introduce a fan favorite character into this new Energon version of G.I. Joe. Sadly he doesn't speak in rhyme, but he is a fully fleshed out character who has the heart of previous iterations. After the high energy roller coaster ride that was the Dreadnok War, this was a great break. Not saying there wasn't some crazy fun action ... Xamot and Tomax show up trying to pay Marvin (Roadblock) to head up their food truck division, when he turns them down, THAT's when the fun begins. Artist Marco Fodera steps in and delivers solid artwork to accompany Williamson's writing. Another great issue for an already great series. Yo Joe!!!

This issue wasn't as good as the others. It was more of a comedic story about the introduction of Roadblock. I love the character except for the Rock's portrayal of him. Overall, this issue was pretty silly. Let's see where it goes from here. My Review Chanel -https://youtu.be/B7fe-NLdkqw

A fun little interlude. Marco Fodera does a good job filling in for Tom Reilly.
