Feb 23, 2026Joshua Williamson and Andrea Milana show how past actions have consequences with G.I. JOE #19. Even if it happened before this Energon Universe series started, Duke’s past experience with the Transformers is a big driving force here. Read Full Review

Feb 18, 2026Secrets and lies threaten the structure of G.I. Joe in this latest chapter. Williamson’s writing weaves in the complex plots flawlessly, giving enough time to all. Milana & Loughridge deliver on key moments and setting the stage for what’s next. It is never “just another issue” with this series. Read Full Review

Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez
Feb 18, 2026G.I. JOE #19 absolutely earns a spot in your limited stack if Energon Universe momentum fuels your pulls; the Joe-Bot rift ignites brilliantly, blending franchises with thrilling personal stakes that demand the next chapter. Casual Joe fans might pause at the Transformer dominance, but series trackers will devour this competently chaotic escalation. It justifies every page turn and dollar spent with sharp wit and escalating promise. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Frank Jarome
Feb 18, 2026There are a lot of dominoes being set up in this book right now, and I am a bit concerned about how many of them do not even pertain to the Joe team at all. At the end of the day, the name of the book is still G.I. Joe, not Cobra or M.A.S.K., and so the team should always be the primary focus. I do not want the creative team to stray too far from that, and it feels like they are doing so a bit. In the end, G.I. Joe #19 brings the book further into the wider Energon Universe, but at the risk of losing its own identity. Hopefully, future issues can help the book reassert itself and get back a bit of what was making it work so well up to this point. Read Full Review

The plot keeps moving forward with G.I. Joe #19. Though no real action or any sign of Cobra, this was still a satisfying read. Felt like a “bridge issue” between The Dreadnok War and what is to come, though that destination isn’t clear yet … especially considering the big twist regarding Hawk. There was a bit too much Transformers in my G.I. Joe … but it’s that whole “shared universe” thing. I can handle the Transformers (to a point) because those brands have been tied together in small and large ways for decades, it’s all the M.A.S.K. stuff that doesn’t really jive with me. It’s good to see that Image will be launching a M.A.S.K. book soon - to get these clowns out of my G.I. Joe comics. That being said … interesting way of using Scrap Iro more

Despite not reaching the quality of Tom Reilly’s artwork, Andrea Milana is doing pretty well. There’s some disconnect between facial expressions and the dialogue here and there, but overall, G.I. Joe 19 is a solid issue.

Another good issue. I'm glad Hound finally came out. I loved Duke's reaction as well as the Baroness, who shrugged defensively. I'm waiting for Zartan to show back up. This run has had some lulls, but it never disappoints. This is why I'm so confused about Iron Man being so mediocre. My Review Channel - https://youtu.be/LZozWBOLxk0
