As well as this issue worked as a whole, the best thing about it might have been the cliffhanger ending. Previous climaxes have felt forced, like the creators almost forgot to make something horrible happen and had to cram it in in the last minute. This one actually makes sense in the grand scheme of the characters' stories, and the immediate threat being presented. It doesn't hurt that Greg Tocchini's sea monsters look as awe-inspiring as they do terrifying. For once, the excitement feels genuine. It compels the reader to continue. Read Full Review

Low#5 is another solid issue this great science fiction story. Rick Remender gives us a strong lead character whose convictions have only seemed to hurt her family, not protect it. With a gut wrenching ending, I am so curious to see where this story is heading. Read Full Review
Low #5 continues to explore the depth and resolve of Stel's optimism and hope as it is put to some brutally tough tests. There were some spelling errors which took away from key parts of the dialogue. However, it did not take away from Remender's ability to capture and bring hope to the reader despite massive foreshadowing to the contrary. Stel's optimism is contagious on and off the page. As Remender ends the issue with one of his signature cliff hangers (Another Remenderism), it is clear that Tocchini's art is beginning to mesh more effectively with the chaotic world that is still unfolding before us. This is a compelling, strong issue. However, it misses the mark on that authentic and genuine feeling that the first four issues had simply because its points are so in your face. This is a kind of bridge episode, one that serves as a means to an end it seems. If that end is the continuation of this amazing and detailed story, I’m okay with it. Read Full Review
