There may still be a few months left in the year, but I am already calling this one of my favorite titles of 2017! With Halloween quickly approaching you would be well served to get yourself a set of Redneck issues for the big holiday night. Turn out all the lights, bust out a flashlight, and read these spectacular comics like you were a kid again. Read Full Review
All I can say is that Cates and Estherren are the perfect match for this title. The artistic talent sucks you into the book, and the story bites right back harder and harder. Its mesmerizing to find a series this good, Redneck is reminiscent of the first issues of The Walking Dead and other now-classic books that are so off the beaten path for comic books which are normally filled with superheroes and supervillains, these relatable, likeable, even lovable characters portrayed in such a realistic manner; I'm dying to find out what's going to happen next to this family of backwoods vampires I've come to hold so dear. Redneck is a powerful comic centered on family. That family just happens to drink blood to survive. Some of them are related by blood. Others are joined by different yet unmistakable connection. In the end, they're all family and they've chosen to side with one another against a world that won't have them. Read Full Review
I'm just a big fan of this book as Redneck #6 brings “Deep in the Heart” to a fitting close, the creative team just kills it in every sense of the word. Right from the first page there's a lot to love in this tale of family problems and I for one can't wait to see where it goes from here. Read Full Review
I've very much enjoyed this arc. The art is loose and takes on an expressive quality that pairs well with the terrific family drama Cates lays down with a horror backdrop. Legit work that has kept me entertained the past six months. I look forward to more.
This is a great fucking book...things have built up for five issues and Cates and Estherran bring us an explosive end to the first arc. This is a great read, and Estherran really brings it in the finale. His depiction of Grandpa is twisted and scary. At times I got a little confused about who's who in the previous issues, but that's not a problem here. The arc ends with the strongest issue of the series to date, leaving me in anticipation for what comes next for Peyton and her lot.
