We don't know what it is yet, but it is bad, very bad, and all the players have their own way of coping with what could be the end of everything. The Warning begins with the suspense ratcheted up to extreme levels and hints at an earth-shattering thriller to come. Read Full Review

The Warning #1 is that one outing this Wednesday that holds your attention even though it doesn't move fast or push things too far forward. It's a slow burn that gives out just enough information to get readers hooked on just whatever is going on here. Recommended. Read Full Review

The Super Powered Fancast - Deron Generally Nov 28, 2018

I enjoyed the dark tone of this book as well as how it is anticipatory in its pacing. I am interested to see where this story is going in the next issue. Read Full Review

For a story type that has probably been done a fair few times, it is admirable how well Laroche has done with this well-worn trope. The challenge will be to try to keep the book fresh as it goes through the paces. It is almost as if the alien invasion, at least in this first issue, is actually just window dressing, and like all good window dressing, Laroche's talent should entice you into the store. Multiversity Comics - Christopher Egan Nov 29, 2018

A beautifully bleak sci-fi drama that gives nearly no answers, but it makes up for that with plenty of intrigue, set up, and incredible art. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Nov 28, 2018

The Warning #1 isn't bad. There's something kind of fun about it in the popcorn movie sort of way. But, it's generally generic at this point with elements we've seen over and over. Might that change? Sure, but as a first issue, it's an entertaining paint by numbers experience. Read Full Review

Its just a solid issue that gave me more than I was expecting. Out of 5 stars I give it a 3.54. Thus far “The Warning” #1 could definitely find interest from fans outside of normal comic readers, and I could see this as a Netflix Series. The fact that it's Its got legitimate suspense and action as well as, interesting characters, and solid art. Seriously give this one a look. Read Full Review

Comics Bookcase - Zack Quaintance Nov 27, 2018

A good-looking debut, to be certain, but nothing much really happens in The Warning #1 other than vague setup for a potential alien invasion. This could very well be by design; the book feels pretty confident in its pacing. Really though, this seems like a comic clearly written for trade. As such, the strength of this first issue will be determined almost entirely by what comes next. Read Full Review

Monkeys Fighting Robots - David DeCorte Nov 28, 2018

The artwork in THE WARNING #1 from Image Comics is appealing right from page one. However, the narrative isn't super cohesive, and there's not much to hook readers. It's an intriguing opener, but too soon to judge where the story is headed. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Kate Sanchez Nov 25, 2018

I can't wait to see how this story develops beyond this set-up. Laroche's writing in the beginning really hit me and was the perfect accent to the world he crafts later on. I'm looking forward to seeing how this evolves in later issues. Read Full Review

Major Spoilers - Stacy Baugher Nov 30, 2018

THE WARNING #1 shows great potential, with a high concept focus and an interesting cast of characters. I feel, however, it just may take more than just this first issue to grab you enough to keep it in your pull box. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Forrest Hollingsworth Nov 27, 2018

Offering little nothing outside of introduction of its admittedly compelling core premise, this first issue of The Warning is featureless and off-putting. It's not particularly offensive or inoffensive, and that's the very problem with it. Read Full Review
