    Comic Watch - Ross Hutchinson

    Feb 19, 2025

Issue 3 is a flawlessly executed, tragic third installment which reveals the fate of mutantkind in this xenomorph infested universe as Hickman gets to play with some of his favorite x-related toys. The art team once again elevate an already great script into the realm of the truly superb. A comic this wild has no right to be this good but it is, from start to finish! Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

Aliens vs. Avengers #3 sets the stage for an explosive finale, leaning into Hickman's signature high-concept storytelling while delivering stunning visuals. While the issue prioritizes spectacle over character depth, Mr. Sinister's presence adds a unique X-Men flavor, and the moody art enhances the tension. It may feel like a stepping stone to the final battle, but it's an entertaining and visually striking one. Read Full Review

Plot Stark, Miles Morales and Captain Marvel arrive on Mars, where Mr. Sinister and his clones were waiting for them with a surprise, he caught all the X-men and placed a Facehugger on them, because he is convinced that Xenomorphs are the ultimate expression of organic beings. Not quite as good as the first two, but still really, really good. This one was a little more action-focused and not as plot heavy. Dialogue was more sparse so it moved a little quicker. Of course Sinister would use the potential extinction of humans and mutants to further his own genetic aims; perfectly on brand for him. Cool to see Logan still alive and badass, and seeing Manifold pop up in yet another Hickman Marvel book is becoming a meme at this point.

This needs to be fleshed out. It has so many great angles and many plot points that would benefit from adding substance. But Sinister gets the spotlight and he shines like the evil son of a gun that he is. Ribic is goated so I forgive the weird faces sometimes because his art is almost flawless.

In this penultimate issue, I was surprised by the moment with facehuggers mutants, but I was even more surprised and pleased by the appearance of the support team.
