Hero Nuggets - Val 'Brolossus' Benidze Jul 9, 2014

Amazing X-Men #9 suffers slightly from one minor artistic flaw, that could really be me just nitpicking. In terms of "X-Books", this one is by far my favorite. I hope Chris Yost continues to write these fun adventures for the rest of this series. Amazing X-Men #9 is a total Buy for any X-fan. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - Joel Raivid Jul 10, 2014

One of the elements I was worried about for this issue was that Ed McGuinness has now left the book and is now replaced by Carlo Barberi. There is no denying that McGuinness draws the X-Men fantastically, but I got to give it to Barberi, this issue the art was fantastic and I am hoping he stays on the book as it really felt like the writing was in tune with the art, the characters sounded and looked fun when they were meant to be, and when it was time to be serious, Barberi was able to change his style to fit that. I think it also helped that Rachelle Rosenberg is still on the colours because this made it a seamless transition from last issue. Read Full Review

    Geeked Out Nation - Soup Owens-Fowler Jul 12, 2014

World War Wendigo is a fantastic idea. It's actually such a great idea that to just confine it to one title seems a disservice. This could have been an awesome multi-title mutant crossover event with how powerful those white, furry legs are. Still, Amazing X-Men #9 does what it can and does it decently enough. The issue suffers from being the earlier part of the story so we see a lot of peril with little payoff, but that's to be expected. If we can just get Puck to lose that ugly onesie all will be right in the world. Read Full Review

    ScienceFiction.com - Stuart Conover Jul 13, 2014

What is a strong concept in the title alone, “World War Wendigo' falls flat when it reaches the page. A lack of actual character interaction, barely touching on the army of Wendigo, and placing a character we know can't be seriously hurt here as one of the leads, causes the story to suffer. Good art and great dialogue on only a couple of pages can't make up for the bad pacing that I'm shocked to see Yost give to us, as usually his arcs are much better put together. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Greg McElhatton Jul 10, 2014

"Amazing X-Men" #9 is a disappointing second issue for Yost and Kyle, and not a great debut on the book for Barberi. Maybe things will turn around, but in a book that's shuffling through creators left and right, this title needs some consistency in the quality. Read Full Review

I enjoyed this issue, if only for the fact it has Alpha Flight and Wendigo's in it.

How can it be a bad comic with those two elements. I say impossible.

After how bad WatX has been this might be my favourite X-Book right now besides Magneto.

Really liked the story, have it a lower score because of a few character things that bothered me.

While the story has been interesting, the dialogue in this issue had some major weak spots. Barberi's art was a welcome surprise as I had been really turned of by art of issue #6, the first time this series had different artist take the reigns.

A fun, light hearted issue that suffers a massive strike from the exploitative depiction of Talisman (and the Puck's ugly uniform makes a return - he really should have stuck with the Uncanny X-Force version).
