My final thoughts on this issue however is that it's an amazing comic, and definitely one worth your money. I am definitely shivering from excitement at the notion of seeing what new blizzard of trouble Iceman skis into. Read Full Review

Astonishing Iceman #2 continues to prove why this character was so deserving of an ongoing series. Iceman is portrayed in a wonderfully refreshing manner, with the art team killing it overly page. Read Full Review

All in all, Astonishing Iceman has highlighted the best aspects of the character while further expanding the man behind the powers, and I'm greatly looking forward to what's next. Read Full Review

A solid second issue that has a lot of fun with its main character, but the series as a whole feels too light and breezy to really get behind just yet. Read Full Review

Astonishing Iceman #2 is a bargain basic issue that's formulaic, missing any drama or tension, and serves only to show you Bobby Drake is great and loves his boyfriend. When you factor in that Iceman is technically not alive, the issue takes on a perverse tone with only Vincenzo Carrat's art to make it worth the effort to read. Read Full Review

This was an improvement over the first issue, in my opinion. Though, I do feel as though the writing as a little hit-or-miss. There were some strong moments, with one example the interaction between Bobby and his mom towards the end. However, I felt as though some of the other dialogue throughout was somewhat basic. With that in mind, I enjoyed this issue as a whole and I'm hoping the book continues to improve with Issue 3.

It feels like Orlando is trying to write a version of Bobby that he’s yearned to see in comics while still maintaining Bobby’s established character arc within the Krakoan era. His script attempts to thread the line between Bobby’s fun and carefree personality with the emotional weight of childhood trauma and Orchis attacking his mother and hometown, but it fails to land either. At times Bobby comes acros more

I reluctantly gave this book one more try and it’s really bad. I won’t be getting more. I’m not sure why it exists or why, in the wake of Fall of X, Marvel decided that this was the book that we “needed”.
