IN THE CLUTCHES OF THE GREEN GOBLIN! Welcome to Osborn City! THOR, ANT-MAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA and HULK JR. have fallen into the clutches of NORMAN OSBORN, A.K.A. the GREEN GOBLIN. Let’s just say, the years have not been kind to the Goblin’s psyche… A knockdown drag-out fight between the AVENGERS and the likes of ENCHANTRESS, WILD CHILD, ABSORBING MAN and more reveals the true nature of DOOM’s mission, and the hidden betrayal that may crush all hope in the Wastelands!
I had fun reading this penultimate issue. It leans a bit too heavily on one action sequence, but given the slower and less action-packed previous chapters, it should flow nicely when reading the trade paperback. I'm not sure this will convince folks to go back and read the previous issues, but I'm certainly on board to see how this team deals with Dr. Doom. Read Full Review
Avengers of the Wastelands #4 is an issue that doesn't feel as big as it should. Ed Brisson gives us some formidable villains to fight the Avengers and reveals there is indeed a traitor on the team, but seems to be in a race to the cliffhanger page instead of letting it all sink in. I still am interested to see where this book goes, but ended up less interested in the journey this issue. Read Full Review
Avengers of the Wastelands won't blow you away, but it's a solid little adventure book. Read Full Review
It is okay. Art is nice and the writing is okay. As a standalone issue, this works just fine. As a penultimate issue? Not so much. There is much more potential here but it is what it is.
This is like a fast food comic. It's quick, easy and I like it despite myself. It's fun, but not really something worth reading. It feels like the Old Man Logan universe is finally, completely tapped out.
It’s not a chore to read which is nice but it also doesn’t do anything super exciting.
For me, this comic falls victim to the eight deadly words: "I don't care what happens to these people." The storytelling's decent but I just cannot work up an interest in what happens next.
