THE DJALIA UNDER ASSAULT - FROM ITS KING?!
To unite the two empires of Wakanda, the Black Panther must destroy a vital piece of his own nation - the plane of all Wakandan memory and home to the griot spirits who have guided him throughout his rule as king. Good ideas stretched across far too many issues and lacking a strong visual component is making it difficult to stick with this series. Read Full Review

I skipped an issue and came back and it's like I almost missed nothing. So I'm back on as this issue got my interest but the pace is a way too slow sometimes. Also Acuna's pages and cover were fantastic!

" Alliés. Not friends. And as for all of your power. We are long past reliance on so random a luxury. And random is the nicest word i can use. There was no power, after all, that could keep the black order from us. There was no such power to prevent the desturi from defiling my father's throne and where was this power when namor drowned thousands of wakandans ? Where is this power now ? That is why you are here, isn't it ? Not to save wakanda but to restore your precious Godhead. " - SHUIRI

T'Challa is challenged for the Djalia by all the past Panthers. In the real world, the Maroons fight a desperate battle and Shuri smacks down BAST in a damned impressive rhetorical display. Great art, great plot developments -- if only all the prose matched the glory of that Shuri/Bast scene.

I actually enjoy the pace, but I don't think the events on the space side of things are being particularly well explained. There are also some other notable black Marvel heroes that show up but don't actually contribute anything. And where is Kasper Cole??

All these issues are blending together for me. I can't wait for this story to be over, honestly.
