Marvel's Blood Hunt event has an intriguing overall premise with Marvel heroes being turned into vampires and fighting their non-infected brethren. But the conflict with the most potential is the Black Panther vs. Blade. Blade's mental grip on T'Challa is more than a means to an end, it's personal. Where things go from here should be interesting. So far so good as, Black Panther: Blood Hunt #1 has gotten the series off to an incredible start and is the first must-read of the character runs. A strong entry into the Blood hunt series as our most noble hero is now fighting with himself and time as he is looking for answers. This first issue is bloody and heroic all the same and seeing Blade in this light is a refreshing departure from his usual character. Read Full Review
Black Panther: Blood Hunt #1 is visually and viscerally spectacular. Read Full Review
Black Panther: Blood Hunt #1 depicts T'Challa's mental and physical struggle with vampirism in a compelling way, and it's topped off with plenty of horror-laced action. However the rest of Blood Hunt turns out, this miniseries has my attention and in a big crossover event, that's no easy feat. Read Full Review
It's cool to follow Black Panther's experience as a vampire after the events of Blood Hunt #1. His internal dialogue is riveting, and the constant fight against his vampiric influences is noble, yet sad at times. Read Full Review
One of the more interesting subplots of this event is Black Panther's struggle as a vampire. Good writing and good art, I'm absolutely invested in this mini series. The conflict of begging for Bast's help, with the weakness it displays, is a great angle. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
Screaming Enigma said all I would've said.
I've never read anything by Eaton before, so I was interested to see how this ended up. After reading, I can say that Eaton really has potential, but I don't think she's really defined her writing style, in terms of comics, quite yet. This doesn't feel particularly unique when it comes to the dialogue, which can feel a little overwritten at points, actually. Despite that, this is still a solid read. I liked a good amount of what we got here, especially the art. The first time I remember seeing Karami's work was in Issue 5 of Saladin Ahmed's current Daredevil run, and I absolutely loved it. I'm glad to see his art was really good here, as well, and it's great to hear he'll be doing the other two issues of this. Overall, this was a solid bookmore
