speaking of the previous run, i wasn't ready for Star-Lord to drop "then it's us"

This issue was nothing short of breathtaking. Read Full Review
I think flashbacks get a bad rap sometimes as they're sometimes just a cheap device to draw out stories. But here, this was treated with the subtle care and intention of any other moment in this book, and it lent a lot of heft and power. It wasn't so much a quiet moment before the action picks up with the recently-swallowed (gross, sorry) Guardians but a maelstrom of emotion and history colliding together. Read Full Review
The fate of Groot is even more terrible than we suspected, and each Guardian's trauma is revealed in fascinating (albeit awful) detail. Good stuff! Read Full Review
Guardians Of The Galaxy #6 finally gets to the meat of the mystery about Grootfall with solid art and an interesting premise. Unfortunately, the latter half of the issue tries to get existential and fancy but only achieves convoluted nonsense with an unclear resolution. Read Full Review
A bit of an emotional issue with this one, as we go through all of the different team member's feelings about what's happened with Groot. While I was expecting a bit more from Grootfall's origin, especially with how much it's been dragged out during this series, I have enough to be satisfied here. The story was more about the team members and that's perfectly fine, especially when it's written well. I also thought the art was good on this issue, with Lins filling in for Kev Walker. I thought his art fit right in with the art we've been getting previously. All things considered, this was another hit for this series and I continue to look forward to what comes next.
As far as flashback issues go they can be hit or miss. This one takes a really cool approach that incorporates the nature of these team and its members. Its really good.
A very emotional issue that doesn't immediately undo the ending of the last, it ends rather ambiguiously but the content demands you be ready when the next issue drops. Incorporating elements of the previous run seamlessly is much appreciated as well. This is a really underrated but strong run on this team so far.
