It's the collision you've been waiting for: the Iron Fists of two different eras come head to head! Daniel Rand: the Iron Fist of the modern age, rocketed back to front and center of the Marvel Universe. Orson Randall: the Iron Fist of decades past, somehow still alive, somehow still on the run from the nightmare of the first World War, and somehow sharing the power of the Iron Fist with Danny. They'll have to learn to work together if they want to escape a trap that sprang to life centuries ago, their shared mystical lineage may be their only hope at surviving HYDRA's full-on assault against?THE IMMORTAL IRON FIST! Iron Fist #5 is another incredible read. I am shocked at how much of an Iron Fist fan I have turned into. Brubaker and Fraction deserve plenty of praise for their wonderful work on this title. I wholeheartedly recommend giving Iron Fist a try. It is certainly worth the cover price. Read Full Review
With each passing issue things get more complicated in this series. Kaare Andrews is a good writer and artist, but this issue jumped around too much and fell flat. He can finish the first arc up strong by tying everything together nicely, though. If anybody can do it, its Kaare Andrews. Read Full Review
I have to applaud Brubaker and Fraction for this issue. 99% of writers would’ve had Danny and Orson team-up, defeat Davos and Hydra, Orson would tell Danny his story, and then Orson would be yet ANOTHER member of the superhuman community. Brubaker and Fracfion smartly ended Orson’s story by killing him off to move the story forward.
Prelude:
The Good:
Loving what I saw from Orson this issue.
Really like the mystical side of this issue and expansion with the Immortal Weapons.
Aja's art is great as always.
I do like the Defenders getting involved in this.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
A great issue as we near the end of this arc. I especially liked the worldbuilding done in this issue.
