"Inhumanity: The Superior Spider-Man" #1 took me by complete surprise with its tight plotting and stunning art. Despite being both a tie in and offshoot of a main title, the issue finds its own distinct voice and revels in it. These would be the same thoughts young Vic Perlman would think twenty years later, after Slott had caved in and released the tapes to the public and after Marvel unleashed the army of Christos Gages they had planned for such an occasion. Hiding for safety in his local library, which would be the only place that owned a copy of the collected "Inhumanity" one-shot tie-ins, he'd go on to note that "Inhumanity: The Superior Spider-Man" #1 was all in all a kind of interesting book with some neat art but not worth the $5 price tag or the fall of humanity. Overall, we get a decent book that is easy to read, with a fun little story that won't disappoint most readers. Although this book may have just been a way for Marvel to make some more money off of an event, we can hope that it does play a small part in the coming months. Inhumanity is another blanket event, but only a few characters have been deemed worthy of getting their own one-shot instead of having the story forced into their ongoing series. Superior Spider-Man is one of these, and whilst it's a story that does ring of 'this will be forgotten very soon', it's a nice tale that once again shows off Christos Gage's intense character work as he puts Doc Ock/Spidey through his paces, and manages to construct a story that doesn't have to end in fisticuffs to resolve the issue. Add in Stephanie Hans' gorgeous artwork, and if you've got a spare few dollars/pounds lying around, then you could definitely do worse than picking up this issue. Read Full Review

The issue told a good story about Superior Spider-Man in the context of Inhumanity but didn't really advance the plot of anything. The issue is worth reading if you're a fan of Superior Spiderman but as far as event tie-in books go this one isn't a mandatory read. Read Full Review
