Bendis continues rolling forward with his Avengers master plan that began in Secret War and Avengers: Disassembled. How much more abuse can he have planned for these characters? Which of his favorites is going to feel his wrath next? With the bookend event Siege on the horizon I am really excited to see what he has planned. For all the criticism Bendis gets for decompression and slowly unfolding storylines (and I've shared in the whining about such things), "New Avengers" #59 proves that he's skillful at pacing a single-issue story while building in structural elements and character bits that will pay off down the road.
