Is this the end of Luke Cage? Has the DARK REIGN hammered the last nail in the Avengers’ coffin?
New Avengers has an extended string of Siege tie-ins in its future, but the last two or three issues should go down as high points in the book's run, and this installment only continues the streak. It's fast-paced, doesn't mess around with decompression, stops to have fun once in a while, and is coupled with some dazzling artwork. Great stuff here. Read Full Review

Immonen is a good artist, of course, but Im not supportive of the attempt to give a Leinil Francis Yu flavour to his work. Their style are totally different and I consider Immonen a superior artist. Having his work changed through the ink to mimic Yul is somewhat insulting considering Immonen doesnt have to ape anyone. Why editors at Marvel Comics this is a good idea is anyones guess. While this book is under the "Avengers" brand, it doesn't feel like an Avengers book. The gathering of heroes in between the covers feels more like an issue of "Defenders" from that title's heyday. This isn't a bad book, it is quite enjoyable, but the "Avengers" brand seems to have strayed. I'm hopeful that as "Siege" hits, the Avengers find more Avenger-y members in the midst. Read Full Review
Do I even have to say it? Of course I hated this issue. I really miss the days when I could open an Avengers comic book and read about actual Avengers characters! You know, Captain America(Steve Rogers), Iron Man, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Hank Pym, Black Panther, etc. What a novel idea, Avengers in an Avengers comic! No, instead month after month after month, BENDIS flushes the Avengers proud legacy down the drain as he continues to run roughshod over the Marvel Universe... Very disappointing. Read Full Review
