SAVAGE AVENGERS #10 is emblematic of what has made this series stand out. The creative teams efforts are so cohesive that its impossible to imagine anyone else doing the work. It has again found new ways to excite, surprise, and engage the reader. With all that said, 'Savage Avengers' was still a marvelous thrill ride. Whatever was lost in the end, it could not dim the overall experience of shocks and awe along the way. Pepose was given the keys to Marvel's candy store and he delivered a sugar rush so potent that 'Savage Avengers' became the best Marvel title month after month. Sad this is ending but it was a very fun ride.
This was a solid run. Very different in tone to the original Duggan run, but still good.
This series overall was pretty decent, but this ending just felt so much like the last few issues. Just a bunch of exposition telling what's happening. And then there's a bunch of moments that try to make you think it's over and then it isn't that it just felt like a chore to get through. It just felt like the generic superhero stuff we get in a lot of comics.
