This is a good looking issue with color work that changes with the time period. The flash back scenes have a blue tone that gives them a dreamlike quality. And the present is filled with bold and vibrant colors that are quite engaging. I found the artwork in this edition to be very transportive. Read Full Review
Silk continues its run of fantastic character development, energetic and emotional scenes, and an engaging story that catapults Cindy Moon/Silk to the heroic levels she should be inhabiting at all times. A creative tie to a Spider-Man villain helps open the story and allows for some really fun, moody, colorful artwork that embodies all the perfect qualities of superhero comic books. Read Full Review
Silk #4 reveals the secret history of its main antagonist while also upping the stakes for Cindy Moon's professional and superhero lives. The end of the issue hints at possibly the biggest battle of Cindy's life, and I'll be there to see how it all goes down. Read Full Review
Goo is an experienced author in narrative prose, but it's maddeningly difficult to get the rhythm just perfect on one issue per month of a comic book. The story that she's delivering here is interesting enough in its own right, but it's not terribly satisfying as a part of the longer run of a series that's still in its infancy. The extended family of characters that Goo is working with ARE interesting, but a bit more of the title character in issue #4 would have been a lot more satisfying. Read Full Review

Silvermane tells Saya's story to Cindy as Saya fights the cat-demon. It's told in beautiful balance with excellent cross-cut connections. The final result is maybe not surprising, but pretty satisfying. It looks great and some of the prose is particularly beautiful. I think in terms of content this is a merely average story, but the skill with which it's told makes this issue a very good read.
So now the villain is just a little less villainous because her dad and an oni are stepping up to fill that role. Makes me wonder how Silk will deal with this situation.
This was pretty good but I wish it was better.
