A long time ago, Doctor Strange destroyed every vampire in the world with one spell, including Dracula. Now, with Strange dead, Dracula's Vampire Nation celebrates!
That doesn't sit too well with Strange's old friend, and new Vampire Nation sheriff, Blade the Vampire Hunter! But what happens when interlopers from another dimension invade the vamp's territory and put all the bloodsuckers' lives at risk? Will Blade do his duty to protect them? Or will he help make sure the vamps stay wiped out this time?

The Death of Doctor Strange: Blade #1 explores the Daywalker's state of mind and provides plenty of swordfights and vampire slaying. I highly recommend picking it up; hopefully, these one-shots lead to Blade getting his own series. Read Full Review
Death Of Doctor Strange: Blade is a perfect example of how to do tie-in stories to events, maintaining the flavor and appeal of a character/world while tying them into the larger events. Everything about this book feels so unique and stylish, befitting the title character. This is a creative team and concept that Marvel most assuredly needs to tap for the inevitable ongoing Blade series that will come out closer to the new film. Read Full Review
Death of Doctor Strange: Blade is a fun issue that revels in the pure joy Dracula is having juxtaposed with Blade's reluctance to be there at all. It's not a must-read tie-in to the main event, but it offers up some cool creature design and further exploration of Blade's new role as Dracula's sheriff. Read Full Review
The Death of Doctor Strange: Blade #1 makes a strong case for these creators continuing their story, but even if they don't this one-shot is a surprisingly satisfying treat. Read Full Review
I would recommend this one even if you were only to dip in and out of the main storyline as you can easily pick up what is going on here without buying all the comics in the series. Read Full Review
The book looks great and if you're a big Blade fan you might enjoy the stylish action. But it does nothing for new Blade readers and has precious little to do with the Death of Doctor Strange event. Read Full Review

The Death of Doctor Strange: Blade is an unnecessary tie-in issue that gets stuck between the event and showing more of Vampire Nation and does neither justice. Danny Lore gets very wordy for an issue without a lot going on, and even Dylan Burnett's art can't save it. Read Full Review
The cover is really cool, but the red people never show up, so that knocks half a point. 1.5/2 The art is good at the start with the classic look but the cartoon look is weird for a Blade comic, though the psychic vampire art was cool and did benefit from the cartoony style. 1.5/2 The dialogue I thought was good with Blade and Dracula's banter being really cool. 1.5/2 The story was unique and really well-executed. 2/2 The characters I thought were nailed quite well, even if Blade is a little cartoony. 2/2
This has some cool ideas in it and the art is great, but it's overall overwritten. This is a problem I've had with a lot of Danny Lore's work. They need to learn to let things breathe more.
This has got a solid plot-premise, and the art is good stuff. But the script doesn't handle the characters and their interactions very well; there's no development or change in how these people relate to each other. It's also pretty wordy, getting expository in all the wrong places.
It's a flawed swing at a decent pitch.
